Poem 28 In Solidarity: To Gezi Park

Ryan Van Winkle

To Gezi Park

The weather was, and continues to be, beautiful. We covered

our mouths with scarves and set out to meet under a tree.

“Bella, Ciao” plays on a boom-box, I can hear

cheering and clapping. But even now

the spring breeze carries high

a whistling, screaming sound.
